As we speed toward the end of the year, we are reminded that time moves ceaselessly forward. To move forward with intent, we must pause, look back, and reflect. In the last year, Restore Education has expanded to better serve our community's needs. We have added new programs, more students, staff, and supporters! By reflecting, our aim is to know better and do better by all who are invested in student success.
In that same spirit, we are thrilled at the opportunity to connect with friends and loved ones and remember what matters most as we approach the holidays. Giving Week 2021 is Monday, November 29th through Saturday, December 4th and we have a fun schedule of safe events to launch our End of Year 2021 Campaign. Each event makes an impact directly benefitting our students, so check out our schedule below!
Included in Giving Week is our Live! Spelling Showdown. Teams, individual players, and guests are welcome to join us on Thursday, December 2, from 6-8 PM at Two Brothers BBQ. Whether you are a master speller or simply looking for a fun social gathering, there are many ways to get involved. We are excited to announce that our College & Test Preparation class is in session! This unique class offers test preparation integrated with college readiness skill building, including career exploration and workshops. Read on to learn more about how our CTP students are preparing for college and career success in 2021.

Live! Spelling Showdown
Our Live! Spelling Showdown is scheduled for Giving Week 2021! We hope that you will join us on Thursday, December 2, from 6-8 PM at Two Brothers BBQ for this entertaining, competitive event.
The competition is open to both team and individual players. Whether you are a master speller or simply looking for a fun social gathering, this event has something for everyone!
Our College & Test Preparation class is in session and meeting in-person again!
Students enrolled in our CTP class prepare for the Texas Success Initiative while receiving college readiness support. Ilse Reyes, College Support Specialist, and Victoria Rodriguez, College Readiness instructor, provide students the tools they need to succeed at two- and four-year colleges. This includes exploring different majors and career pathways.
We are overjoyed to see our students in the classroom again! While we were still offering college readiness and support during the pandemic shut down, students were receiving instruction virtually. Pictured below are students at their orientation session in August. During orientation, students went over class expectations, the syllabus, and learning goals. Structured learning in a scheduled class environment helps students prepare to meet the demands of a college schedule.
This week, students met with professionals in their areas of interest. Students were able to ask direct questions about earning a degree in their field of work, what a typical work day is like, and individual career pathways. These types of workshop sessions help students to begin to see themselves as future professionals, build confidence, and gain insider knowledge.

A brighter future is now!
Restore Education’s Summer Graduation 2021 was a huge success! It was wonderful to gather with staff, friends, and family in celebration of student achievement. Over 65 students participated in the event!
Each year, we see our number of program graduates grow. This year was no exception despite the monumental challenges that our resilient students faced. Our graduates have overcome incredible obstacles to achieve their goals and we are honored to join with their families to celebrate.
We are also honored to be the recipient of an incredible gift from Kym's Angels Foundation. Guest speaker, Yolanda Valenzuela, surprised President & CEO Kelli Rhodes and our graduates with a gift from the foundation at the close of the ceremony. Pictured below is a snapshot of the exciting moment. We are so grateful to Yolanda & Kym's Angels Foundation for supporting our students!
