Restore Education is a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming the lives of individuals, their families, and our community through education. We believe that education should be free, flexible, and available for all who are willing to work hard to achieve their dreams. We offer a continuum of services from basic literacy and English language learning to high school equivalency, career training, and college support. Our objective is to restore the potential of students who have lost connection with traditional education and put them on individualized and supported pathways to life-sustaining careers. In all we do, we strive to provide the most effective education pathway for each student to achieve their goals and realize their full potential.

OUR HISTORY
In 1997, our founding staff began working with inner-city high school students to create unique pathways to college. Restore Education officially began in 2008 as the educational outreach branch of a local church, through a partnership grant with the Texas Education Agency. In 2012, we became an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Since 2008, student demand for our no-cost education services has skyrocketed. Currently, we have 14 partner satellite sites throughout San Antonio and are rapidly expanding to meet robust student demand for our no-cost services.
Expansion to Serve Adults of All Ages
In 2014, Restore Education joined the Alamo Consortium for Adult Education and Literacy, led by Education Service Center-Region 20, to serve youth and adults of all ages.
Career Pathways
In 2016, Restore Education expanded its offerings by adding new workforce training programs through the support of the Texas Workforce Commission.
Uniting with Others
In 2018, we became a delegate agency with the City of San Antonio’s Economic Development Department. In 2019, we became a United Way partner agency. We also began expanding through the addition of partner satellite sites throughout San Antonio.
Expanding Even More
By 2020, we served over 15,000 students, and became a Train for Jobs SA partner with the City of San Antonio. In 2022, we joined with the Workforce Development Office to support the launch of Ready to Work as a prime partner.
