On Saturday, June 7, we hosted the first ever Road 2 College Symposium at our Eastside Center for Excellence!
Free and open to the public, the event was geared towards providing key information to individuals who are interested in starting, want to return to, or are currently enrolled and would like to have additional support while in college.
Discussion topics centered around how to prepare for and succeed in a challenging new academic environment, with a focus on understanding financial aid, being a leader on campus, how to navigate college campuses, as well as networking essentials.
During lunch, Restore Education Alumni also spoke to attendees to discuss their own college experience, how Restore Education was able to support them, and where they are now professionally.
A big ‘THANK YOU!’ to CPS Energy for their support in donating student scholarships. We also gave away several laptops courtesy of AT&T Texas!
It was a great day complete with free food and childcare provided on-site. 😊
