Applause for Elma R. – our Student of the Month for GED!

Elma is a mother of three daughters, as well as a passionate advocate for education. She is actively involved in the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO), where she supports her children and all students. During award ceremonies, she’s known for enthusiastically cheering on and photographing children whose families cannot attend–small acts that speak volumes about her character. Teachers frequently call on her for support, recognizing her as a dependable and uplifting presence on campus.

Since enrolling at Restore, Elma has successfully passed three of her four GED exams and is preparing for the math test! As her confidence has grown, she now looks forward to helping her daughters with homework as they progress in school:

“The time and energy the teachers put into helping with our struggles means a lot to me. They take the time to really understand the material and support us with everything–not just the lessons, but life in general. I discovered that I love learning, not just enough to pass exams, but to truly understand, grow, and better myself.”

Elma is excited to pursue further education in Culinary Arts or a legal field. She is an inspiration to many!

Elma is an outstanding leader, learner, and community member whose journey has been one of courage, growth, and self-discovery. Her perseverance and positivity inspires me, as well as her classmates.”
