A well-deserving Lily M. is our Student of the Month for GED!
Before joining Restore Education, Lily was reevaluating her life. With the support of her boyfriend, she realized that earning her GED was essential to achieving her dream of becoming a real estate agent.
Growing up, her family had very little. She planned to finish high school, but caring for an infant son became her top priority.
Until recently, Lily worked as a night manager at Walmart. She made the tough decision to leave a well-paying job to fully commit to her education knowing the sacrifice it meant. She has remarked that her “growing self-confidence and determination to help her family” keep her moving forward.
Since then, Lily participated in the last intensive class and passed two GED exams!
Her ultimate goal is to partner with her boyfriend in a business that buys older houses, renovates them, and sells them at affordable prices for local residents–not corporations. She hopes to revitalize these neighborhoods and make homeownership a reality for people in the community.
Program Instructor Julie Menard shares that it is Lily’s “compassionate leadership and deep desire to uplift others – especially those with so little – that truly touches my heart.”
“Lily stands out among her peers for her transformational growth, impressive dedication to her studies, and compassionate leadership skills. She does whatever it takes to succeed, and motivates others to work hard and commit to their goals.”
