We’re beaming with pride for Nazifa W. – our Student of the Month for ESL!
Since Nazifa first began attending Restore last October, Program Instructor Patsy Anderson says she has seen an “incredible improvement” from a young lady that could not speak (or understand) English, to an outgoing, self-confident student who guides others in similar positions through her same learned process.
Nazifa now exhibits a basic understanding and use of the language, and is routinely the first to attempt to answer questions posed in class.
Though she is unsure of whether more schooling or a job is in her near future, at the moment, Nazifa is happy to be able to communicate with her peers and make new friends.
“When I hear her speaking,” Anderson shares, “my joy is overwhelming.”
We couldn’t have said it better ourselves!
“Nazifa is one of those students that makes a lasting impression on a teacher. She is shy, and has had a more difficult time learning English than most, but continues to persevere. I am very proud of her progress!”
