Special shoutout to Virginia D. – our ESL Student of the Month!

Virginia received her Paraprofessional certification through Restore Education, and is currently enrolled in our Spanish GED program. She routinely shows up early to class and puts great effort into her studies.

Recently, Virginia was summoned for jury duty. At first, she was fearful that her lack of fluency in English would prevent her from serving. When the judge heard her speak, however, he quickly determined that she could remain in the selection process.

Virginia was very proud of herself at that moment, and had a positive experience overall as a new US citizen. Now her dream is to find work in a dual language (or bilingual) classroom setting, as she hopes to apply for a substitute teaching role at her children’s school in the near future.

You’ve got this, Virginia!

“Virginia is not afraid to make mistakes…her self-confidence inspires our class! Virginia always takes the initiative to help others, and uses every opportunity to practice her English.”
